A Simple Method to "Toughen" the Grip of an Accessory Connector Plug.

Obtain a 3/4" O.D x 9/16" I.D x 3/32" O-Ring,
commonly available from hardware, plumbing, and automotive stores.
Or contact us and we will mail O-Rings to you at no charge.

The SAE standard 568 number is: AS568-113.
The "trade" number designation is #113.

Stretch and roll the O-ring on over the "pin" end of the plug.

Now push the plug on to the phone firmly until it clicks into place.  It will take some effort.

With the O-ring in place, the mechanical connection of the plug to the phone becomes quite resilient to knocks and bumps.

The plug can still be detached when desired with a firm and positive squeeze on the side tabs.

When the plug is detached, the O-ring stays on by virtue of its elastic fit, as well as being retained by the metal "hooks" at the end of the plug.
