Toll-Free:
The SP3 Laser barcode system combines the ease of use of
a cell phone handset with the accuracy, speed and flexibility of a true
Laser scanner, producing a compact, low cost and powerful tool for integration with
your wireless Java J2ME solution.
-
The Bluetooth SP3 sytem uses our BRAC attachment
system. (Pat. Pending.) The SP3 Bluetooth version is
Nextel, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, and RIM Blackberry compatible.
There are also other compatible devices. (Please call for compatibility.)
-
The tethered SP3 system works with any Nextel/Boost
phone that has a "Falcon" style connector, providing a wide array of
phone styles and feature sets to choose from. (View
an example of a Falcon connector.)
-
The phone and tethered ROV scanner attached together (Industrial Strength
Velcro®)
become a single device that you can hold in one hand. The
scanner is 1" thick, and the cell phones vary from about 3/4" to 1"
thick, depending on phone model, making the assembled system
approximately 2" thick overall.
-
The ROV is a true Laser barcode
scanner. It attaches to the phone and interfaces with
application programs using our hardware and software interface system.
-
The system is flexibly designed so that you
can scan either from the top or the bottom of the phone, whichever is
most comfortable.
-
The scanner is self-powered, using 3 ordinary AAA
alkaline batteries.
-
The scanner is dual-purpose: It can be detached from the phone
and used with a desktop or laptop computer. A serial cable for
computer use is included with the scanner, a USB interface is
optional. You can also easily completely detach the scanner and
use it in "portable batch mode", and scan in hundreds of barcodes
into its self-contained memory. The stored scans can then be uploaded when you
reattach the scanner to your phone or computer.
-
The scanner "beeps" after each successful scan, or it
can be configured it to keep the beep sound turned
off.
-
Scanner driver software libraries are available to
qualified software developers. The SDK includes a sample J2ME
application that demonstrates how a program can receive and process bar code scans.
-
If you don't already have a Nextel phone, we can help
you get setup with a complete package including the scanner system and
a Nextel phone with Nextel services.
